Fire Training Wales will be running two sessions in Rhayader on Friday 23rd March.
The sessions will begin at 10am and 1:30pm


10am Session – 4 spaces available. 1.30pm Session – FULL

  • A review of current Fire Safety Law, Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Law Order 2005, Staff Training & Fire Safety Management
  • What is Fire?
  • Fire Awareness, latest statistics and fires in the UK
  • Triangle of Fire, combustion & fire spread
  • Human behaviour in a fire situation
  • The role of the Fire Warden.
  • Site specific information including evacuation plans
  • Basic principles of risk assessment, to include specific risks, machinery, oils, location of fire, forestry fire breaks and good working practices
  • Fire fighting procedures when a helicopter is in use
  • Fire spread to include crowning
  • Weather conditions and how this affects the ease of fire starting
  • Routine fire prevention measures
  • Fire drills and pre-planning
  • Fire fighting equipment
  • Practical Fire Fighting Situation
