Dormouse Presentation & Fieldwalk

This course is designed for a more in depth look at the species when undertaking forestry operations.

There will be a small classroom-based presentation & then you will be taken on a field walk looking at some of the challenges the sector faces when managing woodland.

Objectives

Delegates should come away with

  • To raise awareness with the sector of how species may be using a woodland.

  • Habitat recognition

  • Field signs that may help in the determination of the possible presence of the species within the woodland.

Instructor

Tom Fairfield - Tom has been a course tutor for FC England Regulations / BCT Managing Woodland In the Presences of European Protected Species” national training events held in 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2019. Also FFF EPS events in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

  • Open to all working in the Forestry and Woodland and conservation management sector.
