Cancellation or Non-Attendance on FFF Funded Courses
Focus on Forestry First works with agreed training providers across Wales to deliver the Skills Development scheme.
On this page, you will find information on how Focus on Forestry First and your Training provider will proceed with regard to Cancellations and Non-Attendance on FFF Funded Courses.
Course attendance cancelled.
FFF notified at least 3 working days before the event.
With the Training Providers (TP) agreement, Focus on Forestry First (FFF) will cancel the Purchase Order (PO) and allow a new notification for rescheduled dates and issue a new PO.
Contribution payment was re-allocated to new dates and PO provided to TP.
If the TP cannot organise a new date, then FFF will accept notification from another.
If the Beneficiary cannot organise a new date. FFF will refund the contribution fee to them.
Course not attended. Did not turn up and no warning given.
Contacted by TP or Beneficiary on the first day.

No contact by TP or Beneficiary on the first day.
FFF will not provide any funding to the TP without the minimum of a signed attendance record on the first day of course, plus an acceptable reason for not completing.
FFF may not refund the contribution fee to the Beneficiary Business. PO cancelled.
TP should apply their own terms and conditions for late cancellations/non-attendance to recover any loss of income.
Course remains on Training Agreement for rebooking.
If this happens more than twice, or the Beneficiary does not comply with TP terms and conditions, FFF will cancel the Training Agreement for the Beneficiary.
Started the course.
Did not complete all days / not suitable for assessment.
If the attendance register has been signed for a minimum of the first day of training FFF can make payment for:
Training Only. Will not pay for an independent assessment that has not been completed/attempted (assessment fees can be claimed back from registration centre).
Training and assessment for integrated assessment courses.
If the instructor deems the candidate is not suitable for assessment, FFF will pay for the training days plus the assessment fee (but not assessment day). FFF will also accept a new notification for additional training and a new assessment date if required.
Additional Notes:
After a Purchase Order confirmation has been provided, please ensure that you keep Focus on Forestry First updated with any changes to planned training, including date changes, cancellations, or non-attendance by emailing info@focusonforestryfirst.co.uk.
If a date change is being made, or a candidate is being replaced by another, please ensure that FFF has been given 28 days’ notice. Where this is not possible please ensure that we have provided written authorisation before submitting a new notification as it will not be accept. We cannot guarantee amendments will be accepted with less than 28 days’ notice.

All Notifications for courses within the current funding scheme (courses starting on or before 28 February 2023), must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 31 January 2023.
Close to reaching 22 years’ service with the British Army, I was sat in a conifer woodblock on Sennybridge Training Area (Mynydd Epynt), contemplating the next chapter of my life, when I looked across the valley to see forestry machinery harvesting a woodblock. After an hour of watching them, whilst noting that there were conifer wood blocks in every direction, I knew that this was an industry that I wanted to explore further.

We are pleased to announce that FFF Ltd will be launching its own Skills Development grant scheme in 2023.
The funding be for courses starting from 1 March 2023. Registrations into this new scheme will open on 1 January 2023 and close Summer 2023 (date TBC).

Good News! We are opening a new application window for the Skills Development Scheme funding.
The funding will be allocated on a first come first served basis, registrations/applications will initially open at 9am on Monday 1st August 2022. The window will be open until 5pm on Friday 5th August 2022.

FFF is still waiting for the full evidence for a number of secured Purchase Orders (PO).
Full evidence for all events that have been scheduled to start before 31st March 2021, with a secured PO, must be received by FFF to process for payment by Monday 31st May 2021.
