Forestry Learning & Development 2026

Overview

Focus on Forestry First has been appointed by Welsh Government to deliver a new Forestry Learning & Development Programme supporting people and businesses across the Forestry and Timber sectors in Wales.

The programme is designed to help people identify their skills and development needs, understand their options and take practical steps towards further learning, training and career progression.

Learning and Development Support
Individual support to help eligible participants identify their development needs, develop a practical Learning and Development Plan (LDP) and explore relevant training, funding, careers and progression opportunities.

Workshops and Seminars
A programme of events for people and businesses across the Forestry and Timber sectors in Wales, providing opportunities to gain and share knowledge, explore emerging issues and good practice, learn from others and make useful connections.

The programme will respond to the needs of the sectors. Engagement with the wider forestry and timber sectors will help shape the seminar and workshop programme and the topics covered.

Our aim is simple: to make it easier for people working in, entering and supporting the forestry and timber sector to understand their development options and access the right support.
